Llandudno station is on Augusta Street, a few blocks south of Mostyn Street and the promenade, and it is the end of the line. The short branch from Llandudno Junction ends here, and the station is also the northern terminus of the Conwy Valley line. Transport for Wales manages it. Some journeys need a change on the way; the route pages for Liverpool, Chester, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Cardiff show the changes.

Arriving at Llandudno

All three platforms are level with the main entrance, so there are no steps and no lifts between the train and the street. The ticket office is at the entrance. Look out for the colourful mosaic panels made by pupils of Ysgol Y Gogarth with the artist Mel Roberts, unveiled in June 2026 and now on permanent display.

The main entrance opens onto the station car park, where the bus stop is. The taxi rank is on the same side, and Augusta Street runs past beyond. No café or kiosk, left-luggage office or public Wi-Fi is listed at the station, so eat in town and keep bags with you.

Walking to Mostyn Street and the promenade

The station panel on this page gives the walk to Mostyn Street on Google’s walking route. Transport for Wales sends people via Trinity Square: turn left along Augusta Street and it opens out at the square, with Holy Trinity Church standing between the square and Mostyn Street. From the church, Mostyn Street and its shops run north-west towards the Great Orme.

For the seafront, turn right out of the station instead. Vaughan Street meets the eastern end of Mostyn Street and carries on to the promenade.

Taxis and buses

The taxi rank is uncovered, and Transport for Wales places the taxi office to the left of the station building. National Rail notes that a ramp cannot be let down from the side or rear of a vehicle at the rank, so book ahead if you need a ramped taxi.

Buses to a range of destinations call at the stop in the car park. A Llandudno PlusBus ticket, bought with the train ticket online, at the ticket office or from the machine, adds unlimited travel on Arriva Wales buses across the local area. When buses replace trains, they leave from a local stop on Augusta Street near the entrance.

Tickets, toilets and the waiting room

On 27 October 2026 the ticket office was listed as open 08:30 to 15:00 Monday to Friday, 09:15 to 15:45 on Saturday and 10:10 to 17:00 on Sunday, which are also the hours when staff are about for questions. The ticket machine takes debit and credit cards but not cash, with space in front for a wheelchair and controls at a suitable height. Tickets booked online can be collected from the office or the machine.

The toilets are on Platform 1, and the RADAR-key toilets there open only while the station is staffed. As of 27 October 2026, National Rail’s page carries a notice that the accessible toilets are out of order, and its listing puts the baby changing inside them. It also lists a Changing Places toilet at the front of the station, through the taxi office door; ask the staff whether it is open.

The waiting room can be heated and has seats with backrests and armrests, but it keeps daytime hours. Out on the platforms the seating is uncovered.

Level platforms and booking help

National Rail rates Llandudno step-free category A, which it defines as step-free access to and between all platforms at all times trains are running. Here that means level access from the entrance across the concourse to all three platforms. Ramps for boarding are kept at the station, but there are no wheelchairs or mobility buggies to borrow. Announcements are made both on screens and aloud, and induction loops cover designated listening areas.

Passenger Assist can be booked with Transport for Wales up to two hours before the journey starts, online or on 03330 050 501 (open 24 hours a day except 25 and 26 December), and Transport for Wales says you can also turn up and go without booking. At Llandudno the meeting point is the platform: wait there and make yourself known to the train crew when the train arrives.

The station car park and cycle stands

The station car park has 120 spaces, run by Network Rail according to National Rail, and is listed as open 24 hours. Charges apply, so check the tariff board on arrival. There is also a drop-off and pick-up point.

Cyclists get 30 spaces on Sheffield stands in three spots on the concourse and a platform, most under cover and all watched by CCTV. Llandudno station has no cycle hire.
